Beverley Thompson is a former BBC television presenter. ==Career== Thompson's career with the BBC spanned over 23 years - much of that time spent on regional news. She began in the mid 1980s as a reporter for Wales Today. She progressed to reading short news bulletins and occasionally presenting the main 5.35pm programme. By 1988, she had moved to BBC West in Bristol and became a presenter of Points West. After a few years, she moved north to Newcastle and worked on the North East and Cumbria edition of Look North. This was followed by a stint at South Today in Southampton. Then, in 2001, she became health correspondent for the new South East Today service in Tunbridge Wells, serving Kent and Sussex. However, the resignation of main presenter Laurie Mayer meant that Thompson was promoted to present the programme. Thompson presented alongside former ''Meridian Tonight'' presenter Geoff Clark until they were replaced by reporters Rob Smith and Polly Evans in mid-September 2009.
